Joplin Public Library- Information Architecture Redesign
Overview
This project was based on a scenario I received from one of my classes in my graduate program. In this scenario, we had to take on the role of an independent Information Architect who had just received an email from the director of a public library. In the email, I was requested to redesign their website from the ground up, emphasizing easy-to-access information and welcoming thematic elements. I was informed that the library had recently received complaints from their patrons that they could not locate what they were searching for on the library’s website. The initial site housed an abundance of information; however, much of that information was buried and or hidden behind improper links and labels. I was tasked with reworking the content on the current site so that it is easy for users to find exactly what they are looking for.
